Hello world!

This blog is intended to serve as a forum for sharing crazy ideas, exchanging perspectives and debating a wide range of esoteric areas of interest with everyone who cares to engage. Nothing is taboo: world affairs, politics, culture, religion, history, technology innovation, healthcare, international development, social change, environment, the future, etc, etc…

I am looking forward to interacting with old friends and making new ones on this site – and to having lots of fun in the process!

Which Tablet PC?

I have decided that my next laptop computer is going to be a tablet or tablet convertible. This much is certain – but I am having a rough time deciding which particular tablet or tablet convertible to get: should I go for the Lenovo X61? the Fujitsu 4220? the Toshiba M400? or maybe the Motion Computing LE-1700?

I am really excited by the possibilities that state-of-the-art tablet PCs potentially offer with the prospect of being able to use touch screens, pen-based data entry, handwriting recognition capabilities, speech recognition technology, etc, etc…and I am leaning toward computers based on Microsoft Vista rather than XP or the Mac OS…

Have you had any experience with tablets? What has your experience been? Any suggestions on how best to make my choice?
